At the 49th Skierniewice Festival of Flowers, Fruit and Vegetables, held on 18–20 September 2026, the National Institute of Horticultural Research (InHort) prepared sensory tests of two experimental products: strawberry and haskap jam, and aronia coulis. Both were developed within the HortiFoodTrends project. The festival provided an opportunity to present them to visitors and gather feedback on their flavour, aroma, colour and texture.
The tests formed part of InHort’s wider programme of activities. In the Knowledge Zone, the Institute’s researchers delivered a series of talks and held a debate on food safety. The Expert Advice Zone offered two days of individual consultations on horticultural topics, including variety selection, fertilisation, plant protection and problems encountered in gardens and allotments. Visitors could discuss their questions directly with specialists and receive practical guidance informed by the Institute’s research and experience.
Together, the tastings, talks and consultations brought InHort’s work into direct contact with the public. Feedback from the sensory tests may help refine the experimental products, while the expert sessions gave visitors advice they could apply in their own growing practices.
