Consumer trials at InHort

Consumer testing of new products under the HortiFoodTrends Project successfully completed!!!

On June 16–19, consumer sensory testing of new products developed in the international HortiFoodTrends project was conducted at the Horticultural Product Processing Centre (CPPO) of the Research Institute of Horticulture – National Research Institute.

Residents of Skierniewice and the surrounding areas had the opportunity to evaluate four new products based on berry fruits. The tested products included:

• salad dressings in three flavor variants: Polish, Asian, and Italian,
• dried blackcurrants in three different flavor compositions,
• fruit sauces based on haskap berries in three flavor versions: vanilla, lemon, and ginger,
• jams: haskap berries – strawberry and strawberry

The study attracted considerable interest. A total of 111 consumers participated in the first evaluation session, while 107 took part in the second session. Participants enthusiastically tasted the prepared products, sharing valuable feedback, comments, and suggestions regarding their taste, aroma, and overall appeal.

Thanks to the active involvement of consumers, it was possible to identify the most desirable flavor combinations and determine directions for further product improvement. The atmosphere during the sessions was particularly friendly. Many participants also expressed interest in taking part in future events organized by the Institute.

The results obtained provide a valuable foundation for further work on the development of innovative horticultural products that meet current consumer needs and expectations.

We would like to sincerely thank all participants for their involvement and time. Your feedback is extremely valuable and contributes to the creation of modern, attractive, and high-quality food products.

Thank you to all the participants!

We love hearing from you.

Let's collaborate.
