On June 24, 2025, as part of the HortiFoodTrends project, the second part of the training course on technology transfer was held for the staff of InHort. The workshop focused on the fundamentals of transferring research results into practice, with special attention to mechanisms of commercialization and the role of intellectual property in research activities.
Participants learned about the key elements of the technology transfer process, including methods such as licensing and start-ups, as well as the roles of different actors involved. The session also covered technology assessment tools, such as IP due diligence, Technology Readiness Levels, and market research strategies.
An important part of the training was dedicated to successful patenting procedures, both national and international, with practical insights into the anatomy of a patent and the specifics of patenting in the food sector. Issues related to confidentiality and IP protection in R&D projects were also discussed in depth.
The training, delivered by Adam Kaźmierczak and Dr. Magdalena Kukowska-Kaszuba, provided a valuable opportunity to enhance participants’ knowledge, exchange experiences, and strengthen the bridge between science and business.
